TERMS & CONDITIONS

Thank you for your interest in The Bloom Flower Farm’s tubers! I specialize in dahlias for the cut flower market. Varieties in my catalog are all suitable for cut flower production and tend to be on the taller side. Please remember I am a small farmer wearing many hats including website or e-commerce platform creator and am am doing my best to create a user-friendly platform.

TUBER STOCK

All digging and dividing is done by me. I work DILIGENTLY to ensure that my stock is HEALTHY. I do my best to run a clean field, but virus does exist within the US dahlia market. While I aggressively cull suspect plants, we make no guarantees about virus status. Testing is cost prohibitive, is not always accurate, and only reveals the status of the plant for a snapshot moment in time.

  1. During the growing season, I inspect plants regularly; any plants of questionable health are removed from the field. I hate gaps in my rows, but I hate diseased or suspect plants more!
  2. Upon digging, tuber clumps are inspected for evidence of virus/disease; anything suspect is trashed immediately.
  3. Upon washing, tuber clumps are inspected for evidence of virus/disease; anything suspect is trashed.
  4. Upon dividing, tuber clumps are inspected for evidence of virus/disease; anything suspect is trashed. It’s pretty much the routine around here.
  5. Health of my plants is a priority, but I do not guarantee virus-free tubers as I am a field grower subject to nature. Our growing protocols have been developed to create an optimal growing environment with a well-defined and executed nutritional and IPM program. However, virus can remain dormant with plants. Some plants never present signs of virus, and others may take years to present symptoms.

It is my promise that I would never sell a tuber that I would not plant in my own dahlia field. My stock comes from my own root divisions & cuttings. My original stock comes from US flower farmers, small growers like myself, who know dahlias. Tubers will be sold as individual tubers, not in clumps. I do not resell  imported dahlia tubers.

COMMUNICATION

All communication about your order will be sent via email.

  • Please be sure to enter the correct email address during checkout.

  • Also, please check that you have entered the correct mailing address for your order.

  • The Bloom Flower Farm is not responsible for incorrect addresses and shipments made to them.

ORDER CHANGES , CANCELLATIONS, REFUNDS

Once an order has been placed, I cannot change or cancel the order. Before making payment, please double check your order (and address) to be sure it is correct. We do not offer refunds.

SHIPPING

Tubers are temperature sensitive; I monitor the weather and will begin shipping as weather conditions permit. I ship via USPS priority mail flat rate boxes which provide tracking and insurance. Tubers will be securely packaged so that they do not bounce around during transit. Sometimes a sprout will break, but do not worry, new ones will grow in its place. It will be fine! Tubers will be either individually labeled OR if more than one of a variety is purchased, placed in the same bag which will be labeled.

  • Warmer climate customers can expect shipping to begin in MID-APRIL as temperatures allow

  • Colder climate customers can expect their orders to ship in LATE APRIL as temperatures allow.

  • I can only ship to growers within the USA at this time. I am sorry but I cannot ship to Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, or APO addresses.

  • I unfortunately cannot offer combined shipping at this time. Remember, it is just me managing everything here.

UPON RECEIPT

When you receive your tubers, please open your package and inspect immediately. Tubers will arrive firm, with an intact neck and an eye. Tubers should be stored between 40-45F degrees to maintain dormancy. The area should be in the range of 85% humidity. The Bloom Flower Farm is not responsible for any damage/rot/shrivel/mold to the tubers that may occur in a customer’s post-shipment storage.

  • Temperatures above 50F will initiate growth- which is fine if you wish to take cuttings.
  • Temperatures below 40F need to be monitored carefully to ensure they do not freeze
  • Temperatures below 33F can cause freezing of tubers; freezing will kill tubers
  • Too much humidity may result in mold or rot.
  • Too little humidity may result in shriveling/dessication.

CONCERNS

Should there be any problems or issues with your order, please email me within 3 days at thebloomflowerfarmtn@gmail.com outlining your concern(s). Please include photographs. Remember, some tubers take up to 6 weeks to sprout/surface after planting.

I want you to be happy with your purchase; however, please understand that I cannot be held liable for tuber failure due to extreme growing conditions, soil conditions, weather events such as flooding or drought, ineffective storage as outlined above, neglect, overwatering or underwatering, late season planting resulting in no flowers, herbicide use, poor crop management, or insect/pest/rodent/rambunctious canine damage. The Bloom Flower Farm is not responsible or liable for any damage or loss that results from crop failures.

SUBSTITUTIONS

I promise I won‘t make substitutions to your order and will issue a refund if I cannot fulfill it. I strive to ensure your order is correct. Very rarely will I have a mislabel in my field, and on the rare occurrence that this has happened, the plant has been immediately relocated to the correct row. I would never knowingly send you something you did not order, unless it’s an extra I tuck into your package!

SHOPPER CONDUCT

Last, to be 100% honest and I can’t believe I have to even say this, but I won’t tolerate rudeness or any of the nonsense I see occur on social media. The dahlia wars have made for some very unpleasant social media activity.  If you are unhappy with your order, please contact me directly within 3 days of receipt of your order. If you are angry you didn’t get a variety you wanted during the sale, please know that I, too, have lost many treasures because I am slow at checkout, but I would never trash a farm because of it. If you choose to post on social media in a way that would damage my reputation as a grower, farmer, or business owner instead of contacting me to discuss any concern you may have, then no communication will occur with you other than a copy and paste of this part of the website.
